Desertcrawler
Wondering who might be interested in a Gold Lake trip this year. My summer is crowded, but I am thinking of targeting the 2nd or 3rd weekend in September. If you haven't been there before, it's great camping, fishing, and a nice challenging trail at Snake Lake. Look up some of the prior trip reports for details and pix...Located near Graeagle, CA -- a good 4 - 5 hour drive from Bay Area via Truckee. Open questions: a)Anyone know when hunting season starts up thataway? b)Anyone willing to take on trip leader responsibility? I may not be able to make it in until late. Didn't TigerDan and/or the Beaver talk about volunteering? Not sure if I do make it that it would be with wife and kids -- conflicts with summer schedules and new schools... sasquatch
September or October would be fine with me. I hope this trip happens! It's definitely the best family camping weekend on our calendar. I won't volunteer as a trail leader due to the fact that sometimes I just swim in the lake all day and never hit the trail!!

MJohnston
I'll be up there over Labor Day, so probably won't be back a week or two later. I was hoping to make it this year.
