A snowy weekend at Huntington Lake, near Shaver, in my old D2. This is exactly how the place should look this weekend. This little cabin rental is at Lakeshore Resort, which is owned by on of our members and was supposed to be the site of our annual last year

Yanking out a Ford F-Big50 out of the snow on our way back from Bowman a couple years ago. Took two D2’s anchored to trees, with both 10k pound winches snatch blocked back to the bumpers to get this thing to move. So about 40,000 pounds of pulling power if my math is right. Andrew, Serge, myself, and Rene were the drivers on that trip.

That time I broke an axle at the Annual in my old D2. This was the 2016, 10 year Anniversary one at Hollister. Here is Colin in his element, fixing Someone else’s Rover on the trail.

Flashback to 2019 and a snowy Bowman Lake trip. 3 D2’s and a Honda Element. Uncoincidentally, we have our next scheduled MORG at Bowman and it should look something like this. Should be a fun trip and be a little tamer than getting up Bald Mountain

Since I am currently rebuilding my rear driveshaft, I thought this Flashback Friday would be a good time to reminisce on when I almost had a catastrophic front DS failure. This happened on the Lost Coast Trail while doing a solo trip. Started to get a clunk when going from a coast to accelerating. Turned out the flange yoke had popped off a section and was allowing the ujoint to dislodge itself. Luckily it never completely separated and I was able to remove it and drive in RWD with a locked tcase.

I remember that - I was in the LR3 and we were taking a small group out for an afternoon 'hard' run and it snapped climbing up the loose wall in that small quarry area.

It's only a few hours until Friday so I'll get a head-start on this.

How about that time Nick D had a snow bridge collapse under his RRC at the annual Bald Mountain snow run?

My old Roverlander plates, before I got too cheap for personalized plates. Still got em in the garage. Should I resurrect them?

Why the hell not, I need to get mine on the RRC
