Elherbinator Posted February 6, 2021 Report Share Posted February 6, 2021 (edited) Yanking out a Ford F-Big50 out of the snow on our way back from Bowman a couple years ago. Took two D2’s anchored to trees, with both 10k pound winches snatch blocked back to the bumpers to get this thing to move. So about 40,000 pounds of pulling power if my math is right. Andrew, Serge, myself, and Rene were the drivers on that trip. Elherbinator Posted March 12, 2021 Report Share Posted March 12, 2021 Since I am currently rebuilding my rear driveshaft, I thought this Flashback Friday would be a good time to reminisce on when I almost had a catastrophic front DS failure. This happened on the Lost Coast Trail while doing a solo trip. Started to get a clunk when going from a coast to accelerating. Turned out the flange yoke had popped off a section and was allowing the ujoint to dislodge itself. Luckily it never completely separated and I was able to remove it and drive in RWD with a locked tcase.
