Hello from DIY or Die Techshop

Recommended Posts

Welp. I finally modded the Rover and have joined the dark side. Some of you may remember me from the event we help at the shop. After 15 years of ownership i am once again in love with my Discovery. To make it better, i did the work with my 13yo daughter as i intend this to be her first vehicle. She put her time in and we got the D1 on a 2†lift with 33’s and cut fenders. Anyway, heres some pics, hope to hit the trail soon!330ab6d4e3fd1596814dec9eae601a60.jpg

Looking forward to seeing you out on the trails.

You might remember that I fitted new radius arms to my otherwise stock D2 at the workshop. Well, since then, I built up that D2, wrecked it in a roll over and then built another one. My, now 17 yr old, daughter helped with each build. It has been a very rewarding bonding experience.

Are you impressed with my ability to build two rigs in the space of a few months or my extraordinary ability to destroy one within a few weeks?

Time for reassembly! Happy birthday to me! Friday btw lol. So here’s what was done. All window trim and pillars were repainted, and of course camo wrap done by SFG Wraps in Newark. 50dcca970a4406cd924219ac530b3297.jpg

That is a fantastic transformation.... If its not too invasive - how much did the company charge?  Prior to me painting my rig, I got quoted $5,000 in the BAy Area, and $2,500 up by Sacramento.....

I'm not usually a fan of camo, but the grey tones work.  Looks great!

BTW, Looks like we have a MORG on Saturday if you want to get some dirt on that thing.
