Closed trails and forest roads; repost from pirate 4x4

Recommended Posts

"Between January and March 2017, a series of strong storms hit California, causing extensive damage to roads, trails, infrastructure, and ecosystems on all national forests in the state. Stanislaus National Forest suffered landslides and road failures on all ranger districts.

To see a map of the extent of the damage, click on the Forest Closure Area Map link on the right. The maps and the damage list are as of April 24, 2017 and will be updated each Wednesday. Updated information will include the date it was posted to the web page. Photos may be viewed on Flickr at https://www.flickr.com/photos/usfsregion5/with/33905889850/.

The Forest Closure orders may be viewed on the link at right. The areas listed in the Forest Closure orders will be closed until at least Dec. 31, 2018.

Under normal conditions, seasonally closed roads open in mid-April. The record amounts of snow mean many roads may remain impassible for many weeks past that date. View extended seasonal closures due to weather conditions.
